Please dress your child in clothes that are comfortable, washable, and appropriate. Please also bring in an extra set of clothes (pants, shirt, socks, sweater, bibs, and underwear in the event of accidents, spills, etc.… Place an extra set of clothing in a plastic bag with your child’s name. At my First Milestones Academy, we ask that all children take their shoes off by the door in an effort to keep the Academy clean and healthy. Please provide a second pair of shoes to use at the daycare.
Please provide First Milestones Academy with the following labeled individually with your child's first name. I have plenty of storage area available for diapers and wipes; you are welcome to bring in big bulks. If you would rather bring in smaller quantities, please be advised to replenish wipes and diapers according to the needs of your child's age. Infants tend to use, on average, 4-6 diapers daily and one box of wipes per week. For toddlers, we ask for two packages of wipes on average per month and around four diapers per day. You can either bring these in weekly or monthly.
Children are happier and learn better when they feel alert and energetic. In order to maintain this standard of health, parents are not to bring children to the Daycare with any of the following conditions. We also require a Doctor's clearance note for all contagious diseases prior to returning back to the Academy.
A good rule of thumb to follow is if you have to give your child any medication to relieve any of the above-mentioned symptoms before you bring them, Please Keep Them Home! If your child becomes ill during care, you will be asked to pick up your child immediately. If you cannot be reached, we will call one of the emergency numbers you have listed. Your child may return to childcare when symptoms have subsided.
At First Milestones Academy, we make every child's Birthday special by holding a celebration. Parents are encouraged to bring in the desired celebration treats. We ask that you inform First Milestones Academy of your desired plan at least 24 hours in advance. Throughout the year, First Milestones Academy will host theme parties and holiday celebrations. We will send calendar reminders of the events so that children can dress accordingly.
Parents are asked to pick up and drop off children at the entrance of First Milestones Academy. This policy is in order to ensure the safety and privacy of our children, as well as to comply with the State’s Rules and Regulations. Please inform us via text message or phone call to one of our numbers 15 minutes prior to picking up your child to minimize wait time. If you plan on spending time with your children and or staff members, please inform us, and we will gladly make arrangements.
Please notify First Milestones Academy immediately of any changes in emergency information, telephone number, job change, address change, or any other changes.
We love to share your little ones' precious moments with you as we know the importance of these milestones. Parents hereby give permission for the use of pictures or video of their child participating in Daycare activities. We do share photos on the Brightwheel application, on our website, and with parents; please inform us if you are interested, and we will email them.
The safety of your children is our number one priority at First Milestones Academy. Children are closely monitored at all times, specifically during play and activities; however, minor accidents may occur. Children learn by testing their abilities; therefore, they should be allowed to participate in activities appropriate for their development. At times, these activities may result in some minor injuries such as minor scratches, scrapes, minor bumps, or bruises as the children play. The injuries will be treated with antiseptic, if necessary, and Band-Aid. With anything more serious, we will contact parents immediately and take appropriate action.
We discourage toys from home. All toys in the daycare are continually monitored for safety and approved for use by children of all ages.
Communication is the key to a successful parent and provider relationship. We like to keep open and honest communication, and we love to hear your suggestions and recommendations. We like to stay in touch with parents via the Brightwheel application, phone calls, emails, text messages, and or visitations at the daycare.
